HEIDI LEADS CELEB BIG BROTHER DVD RENTAL INCREASE
Rentals of DVDs starring Celebrity Big Brother housemates including Vinnie Jones and Stephanie Beacham have soared by up to 3000 per cent since entering the house.
Despite being one of the first housemates booted out of the house, Heidi Fleiss has certainly got the UK curious. Rentals of the 1995 Nick Broomfield documentary of her life Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam has experienced the highest surge in DVD rentals compared to any other contestant this year – a staggering increase of 2950 per cent.
LOVEFiLM, the UK’s largest online DVD & games rental service and entertainment website, analysed rental figures of films and documentaries the contestants have starred in to find out how their appearance in the last ever series of Celebrity Big Brother has affected their popularity amongst film fans.
Also benefitting from the increased exposure, Brit hardman Vinnie Jones has seen an average increase in demand of 80 per cent across his most famous films Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Swordfish, Mean Machine and X-Men: The Last Stand.
Housemother Stephanie Beacham’s career defining Dracula A.D. 1972 has increased by 111 per cent, while outspoken born-again Christian Stephen Baldwin’s appearance has also led rentals of 1995 cult film The Usual Suspects to an increase of almost 60 per cent.
Even glamour puss Ivana Trump’s infamous cameo in 1996’s The First Wives Club, uttering the words, “Remember girls, don’t get mad, get everything”, has led to the title experiencing a 22 per cent increase in rentals since she entered the house.
The only Hollywood contestant not to see an increase was pint-sized singer Sisqo, whose 2001 film Get Over It actually recorded a fall in demand by 4.3 per cent. Perhaps it was the thong?
The Top Five Contestants to see a rise in rentals are:
- Heidi Fleiss (Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam) – 2950% increase
- Stephanie Beacham (Dracula A.D. 1972) – 111% increase
- Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Swordfish, Mean Machine, X-Men: The Last Stand) – average 80.5% increase
