INDUSTRY LUMINARIES KRISTIAN SEGERSTRALE AND ROLAND STEINDORF TO BECOME NON-EXECS
LONDON, 6 September 2010, LOVEFiLM, Europe’s largest subscription service streaming movies and TV episodes over the internet and sending DVDs by post, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non executive directors Kristian Segerstråle (UK) and Roland Steindorf (Germany).
One of the UK’s most influential gaming figures, Kristian Segerstråle has led the field in mobile and social gaming for the past decade. Kristian is the co-founder and CEO of Playfish, recently acquired by Electronic Arts (EA) for a sum approaching £260 million – making it one of the largest and fastest growing social games companies to date.
Prior to Playfish, Kristian spent 6 years as senior executive of mobile games publisher Glu Mobile (originally Macrospace), which he co-founded, helping grow the company from its inception through a successful IPO on the NASDAQ in 2007.
Roland Steindorf joins LOVEFiLM’s pan-European board bringing with him an extensive knowledge of the German broadband and media market. Roland is currently Head of the Supervisory Board of Versatel AG, one of the largest DSL operators in Germany, and also co-founder of investment and consulting firm ORAD. He developed Kabel Digital, a German digital cable pay TV platform owned by Kabel Deutschland and secured support from KDG’s investors Apax, Providence and Goldman Sachs to launch the platform.
