In a little over seven years, LOVEFiLM has become a leading European film subscription service, combining the benefits of DVD rental by post and, more recently, watching movies online via the LOVEFiLM Player (on the PC, PlayStation®3, iPad® and other in-home connected living room devices). Customers choose from a selection of over 70,000 titles available across Blu-ray, DVDs, video games and digital streaming. LOVEFiLM currently has 1.7 million members and operates in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

Our growth at LOVEFiLM has been fast. Since launch we have made a combination of 11 mergers and acquisitions across Europe, demonstrating our skill in picking the right market and the right opportunity. In February 2011, LOVEFiLM was acquired by Amazon EU SARL further underpinning our position in the market. So, what next for LOVEFiLM? Our goal is to revolutionise home entertainment for everyone, offering hybrid service with best choice of films and entertainment to people when they want it, in a format they want it, at a price that they can afford. We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to help us achieve these goals.

This person will have ownership for end to end recruitment activities.  This includes hiring the best candidates for temporary, fixed term, permanent, internships, MBAs and executives for the UK to meet the growth plans for the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure recruitment processes and service levels are consistently met, including the improvement of the candidate experience throughout the process
  • Develop and communicate service levels across the business which focuses on candidate calibre, cost and time to fill
  • Ensure all hiring managers involved in selection are equipped with the relevant skills in interview techniques and assessment and have an understanding of the UK legal framework relevant to selection
  • Drive efforts to  source our own candidates and build on the ever more established brand names of LOVEFiLM & Amazon reduce the reliance on recruitment consultancies
  • Identify and implement enhanced selection methods where appropriate, including the use of psychometric testing and assessment centre methodology
  • Build on the effective working relationship with an existing recruitment partner  and with specialist recruitment agencies
  • Develop the employer brand through ongoing advertising
  • Leverage the LOVEFiLM & Amazon Employee Referral program across the UK market
  • Support and develop local implementation plans for any Global and/or European recruitment initiatives
  • Prepare and share performance metrics for the function on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Review key recruitment processes and identify best practices for enhanced selection techniques in this market
  • Partner with the HR Manager to identify succession candidates or potential internal transfers where ever possible

Your career to date will demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing and delivering recruitment across multiple disciplines with a high hiring bar
  • Experience in supporting businesses achieving substantial growth
  • Experience of recruiting within a strong branded environment
  • The ability to build appropriate talent pipelines for key functions
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and  in influencing senior leaders
  • Experience recruiting in organisations with rapid and complex change management
  • The ability to create ‘world-class’ recruitment tools with a passion for talent development
  • A background in connecting recruitment processes with business strategy and priorities
  • Experience of leading a team

The successful candidate:

  • Will be an innovative business and HR thinker with strong analytical acumen
  • Will be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Should have a bachelor’s degree and ideally will be CIPD qualified
  • Will have experience of working directly in a recruitment function and HR experience at management level, with the potential to develop their career into other key HR roles
